A Little Bird at Little Bird

A piece created for the 'Why Not Niwot' annual show. 

Last summer, I happened to be in Niwot one evening when I noticed a little bird perched on the "Little Bird" weather vane. Before I could take a picture, it flew off—but the image stayed with me. That moment, with the bird framed against the late afternoon storm clouds, became the inspiration for my pastel painting, "A Little Bird on Little Bird."

The weather vane has become one of my landmarks whenever I visit Niwot. I love the town's unique architecture.
